We've had several questions asked about waivers for installation of flooring materials over questionable substrates or in questionable conditions recently. In addition questions have arisen about placing a lien on a building when payment is not made for the installation of flooring materials. We'll address both these issues in simple terms here so that it will make it easy to understand what they mean, how they are used and how or if they can help you when you have a dubious situation.

Accomplished fabrication company Sterling-Miller Designs handled the complex development of this 12-ft.-tall thermoformed Corian kiosk, as well as a 30-ft.-long desk, for a remodel at the prominent lower Manhattan home of JP Morgan Chase and the New York Daily News. The monumental design was created by Studios Architecture NY to contrast the dark brick walls and floor pavers and take advantage of the immense space in the building's lobby area. For the kitchen of a private residence in Alpine, NJ, 12- x 24-inch porcelain floor tile from Casa Dolce Casa's Velvet Collection in the color "Oyster" is complemented by granite countertops with a double-bullnose edge.
